I was quite disappointed with "We Have Always Lived in the Castle." Firstly, it didn't fit neatly into the horror or mystery genres, which was unexpected. The reasons behind the deaths of most of the Blackwood family members were too obvious, lacking the mystery I was hoping for.

What bothered me the most was how unengaging the story was. It felt dull and uneventful, making me wonder if it would continue like this throughout. It was hard to stay interested.

Furthermore, I couldn't connect with the story or the characters. While there might be some hidden meaning or symbolism, it remained unclear to me. Instead of feeling intrigued, I found the story confusing and ultimately unsatisfying.

I also couldn't understand why the entire village despised the Blackwood family. Was it because of the tragedy, money, or something else? The confusion about why the whole village hated the Blackwood family remained unresolved throughout the story. Overall, it was a letdown.
