Role Playing by Cathy Yardley
5.0
I loved the book. It was so soothing. I actually took my time enjoying the entire book. Both characters are on the more mature side (her 48 and him 50) and they both are introverts for the saddest reasons. The book explores sexuality (bi-sexuality) and certain sexual preferences and it was so nice. Idk if its the authors writing style or the narrators voices but it was really really nice. That aside there wasn't that much smut. There was so much to take in from the story. There were some really cute and funny moments and they were both geeks (almost senior citizen geeks lol). I love love love how Maggie finally found someone whose exactly like her (who she can be alone and secluded with). I also love how she was so understanding and didn't judge Aiden for his sexual preferences and past. She was very protective of him and that was exactly what he needed. It pulled all my heart strings because even his parents gave him a hard time when he went through figuring out who he was and his sexuality. It was so sad. And she makes the best Chinese food. The different blend of cultures made the book even more interesting (especially how there were bits and pieces and not overwhelming). They were like two kids trying to figure each other out. Her relationship with her son was also amazing, although she tries to get him to be more social and less introverted she supports him and his tendencies to be more alone and secluded. And she plays video games with him!!! They both fell in love the sweetest way possible and even when they finally became intimate despite the lack of heat it was quite intense and nice lol.
