Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan
2.0
This true memoir is about Anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis which was not an enjoyable read for me and must be of interest to my book club members as many seem to be enjoying the schadenfreude experiences of enjoying the misery of others. Zero entertainment value!
The author proposes that many who are deemed to be possessed or subjects for exorcisms may actually be subjected to the disease and she thinks they can even miraculously speak Latin and have other bizarre symptoms.
