Crime Beat: A Decade of Covering Cops and Killers by Michael Connelly

This is Connelly's early work, his writing as a journalist for the LA Times and a newspaper in Ft. Lauderdale. To me, the beginning was the most interesting part, where he tells how he got interested in becoming a writer and the paths he chose to make that dream a reality.

Definitely worth a read.
