I find this book intriguing because it is Kafka’s first novel, unfinished, and depicts a place Kafka has never been (America). It is a whirlwind of life and things happening to Karl that are out of his control but he is just along for the ride. This story is full of anxiety inducing settings in which Karl is thrust into situations and sometimes trapped. I would love to know how Kafka would have tied this novel together and finished it given more time.
