I put the book down a few times as it's not well paced. Some parts are interesting, and others are not so interesting, as well as superfluous info/backstory. This was an Amazon first read, so I'm glad I did not buy this novel. I had read Ms. Dev's prior book and liked it, but this one wasn't for mI set the book down several times because it lacks a good pace. Some parts are interesting, while others feel unengaging and filled with unnecessary backstory. Since this was an Amazon First Read, I'm glad I didn't buy the novel. I enjoyed Ms. Dev's previous book, but this one just didn’t resonate with me.
