Poured hearts is a collection of free-verse poems. All of them are based on the author’s real happenings. Every poem is neat and flawless. They are heart-touching as well as distinctive. Poems justify the title ‘Poured Heart’ because the author has poured out all her feelings, sadness, happiness, anger, fear through this book.
And the use of illustrations related to each poem made it more interesting to read. Every illustration was apt and beautiful. I could connect to most of the poems, I felt like my life was being described through this book. It teaches you self love and is a source of inspiration and positivity.
It is hard to choose one favourite poem from this book because I connected to so many of them. So my favourites are Blessing, Lowkey, Insecurities, Full of life, Voicemail, That moment, Beautiful little things, Chromosomes, Waves of the ocean, Reminder to self and many more. And the one named ‘Papa’ was just amazing.
