Such an enlightening read. Offred’s firsthand account of the dystopian she lives through where women are manipulated and forced to bare children for the declining society is very powerful. it reveals the truth of what would happen if women’s reproductive rights are controlled. sure it can be pretty uncomfortable at times but it is very honest. i found the lack of quotation marks to be understanding because Offred is saying an informal account and she is speaking <speaking to a tape recorder revealed at the end of the novel>.
