Roar by Cecelia Ahern
2.0
Definitely one of the craziest books I've ever read.It took me nearly three months to reach the last chapter, I had times utterly overlooking it in a corner. It turned out to be the most disappointed read of this year.
Thirty women, thirty stories. Each story is metaphorical, sarcastic and tiresome. It has thirty women who are at different stages of their lives facing different dilemmas but together represents the women in general. Some stories made me laugh out loud for their absurdities, failing to make an impression. All the stories puts women and their insecurities into an illusion and push them out into the real life with high spirits.I found one or two stories sharing life lessons deviating from women issues. It would be good if the author kept moving on the ground rather than reaching an imaginative world to roar out the stereotypes surrounding women.
A few stories seemed inspiring that made me feel I haven't left completely empty-pocketed but the rest were quite ludicrous feeling tedious even at the thought of reading them.I couldn't recommend it to anybody.
