The Boy and the Sea by Camille Andros

5.0

In the vein of Love You Forever, The Boy and The Sea tells the story of a boy growing up by the sea – he has fears, he worries, he stops to just listen. The sea by his home is where he goes to think. The images beautifully illustrate his life from young child to old man. This is a book you treasure and pass down.

We read this one during family story time and even my husband enjoyed it. He spent summers on the Jersey Shore. Once the book was over, he said he felt like the story was his life.

I don’t think my children fully grasped the life cycle aspect of the story but they did like the story and illustrations. They were engaged and asking questions throughout.

The Boy and The Sea is out today! Thank you @uplitreads and @camilleandros for this beautiful book.
