Ghost Eaters
by Clay McLeod Chapman
Hands down, LOVED this book! It had strong emotion, even stronger detail, and truly paints the picture in your mind of you being right there alongside Erin and the others. I will admit, I have a weak stomach and gagged a handful of times reading it. I also nearly cried at other points.
Ghost Eaters really digs into showing struggles with addiction and grief. Another big thing that stood out to me is the MC’s ongoing battle with not setting boundaries (and self shame when she does).
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the first part is quite slow, in my opinion. It REALLY picks up the pace later on so I’m glad I kept going! However, it was a bit of a struggle to push through. It also seemed as if I was reading 2 different books by the time I got to the second half. The writing style takes a quick turn BUT I’m absolutely living for that second style!
