Found in a bookstore with a copy of McSweeney's #43, both of which are bound the same way. Not my favorite, prone to tearing the cover whenever there's a cutout on it, but it does look cool.
The stories found within are all good. It's hard to connect the stories to each other because even though they all come out of the same area, they all take different perspectives of time, situation, emotion, intent. There's no sense that any of these people knew each other, but there's no guarantee that they didn't either.
It's hard to put a finger on what's not working because it is working, it's just not working perfectly. And that's fine. I just wish that it was when what does work, works really well.
