This book was both sad and heart warming. As someone who remembers September 11th, 2001 through the eyes of a 5th grader, and like most Americans, has their imagine of Afghanistan painted by what came after, it’s interesting to see the country from the other side. This book isn’t about 9/11 but it tells of life in Afghanistan through the years leading up to it and more importantly it’s a story of two women who have very hard lives, but through it all find love in each other.
