this was fun. it’s a little different than you’re typical fae story and i believe it’s the first i’ve read that also has vampires so that’s cool (fbaa is not technically fae, right? and not technically vampires lol?)

and yes, the last like 30-40% is basically the last quarter of from blood and ash. but honestly, this book might do it better, at the very least exactly the same, but with less than half of the total page count of fbaa. which i find impressive

there’s definitely a lack of world building, both at the beginning before Adara is taken and somehow still after, even though she is thrown into a whole new world. Adara takes several trips to library but we learn like one thing along with her. i need to know more about this world lol

this is not a book without flaws, that’s for sure, but i’m a sucker for fated mates so you know i’ll be reading the sequel
