I think Jimenez is writing in the wrong genre - I appreciate that she uses serious issues to give her central relationships real stakes, but then the HEA undermines them, as everything is miraculously solved. Currently waiting for The Friend Zone on Libby, but it appears to have a similar problem based on what I've heard. All that being said, I did enjoy this (despite the sometimes bleak topics, hers are some of the few "romcoms" that can actually me laugh) and I love that she always has a dog character.
