We Are Not Free

This book was fantastic. It was sitting at a 5-star for most of the read, but it started to teeter on the edge of Too Long. I completely understand the purpose of that though; the sizable cast of characters showed us just some of the many different experiences & reactions Japanese Americans had during/because of their forced removal and incarceration. That being said, I still think the story could've been a little tighter, particularly the last quarter.
Regardless, I think this book is a must read. It offers an education on a piece of history America refuses to face, and shows how much more change needs to come.
