I've seen some good reviews on Milan's Cyclone books and I have always wanted to read them. Now, I understand why people enjoy her books. They're diverse in race, LGBTQ+, and mental illnesses, and the characters are written beautiful and are developed well throughout the story.
Trade Me was interesting enough with the plot of rich guy trade's life with poor girl, but what had me hooked was the way Blake and Adam Reynold's were written. Adam is the rich father because he created his own technology company and Blake is to take over said company from his father. You would think because they are rich that they would be assholes, which is true for Adam, but what I loved was that even though he was an asshole he wasn't the typical white rich father who didn't care about his son. I loved that the Reynolds' weren't written as the typical white rich family.
I was hooked because of the characters. Every single character from Tina and Blake, the main characters, to the side characters of Maria, Tina's parents', and Adam. Not a lot of authors can write great characters with great character development, but Milan has done an amazing job with her characters and telling the story. The only thing I disliked was Tina being scared to love, but maybe I'm being bias because I don't think people should be scared to love and because I would do anything to have a man like Blake. I also didn't like how the story just ended. I felt like there should have been a epilogue, but I saw that there was another story with Tina and Blake, so I guess it's sort of alright?
