The Hammer of Thor
by Rick Riordan
This series is as good as Percy Jackson, and I could not love Rich Riordan more. His stories have everything, from feeling to ridiculous humor. I also admire how they touch gently on issues facing the world - and especially the primary YA audience - like inclusion, disability and religious tolerance. You would hardly expect so many social issues to be woven into a fantasy story, but Riordan does so fearlessly and with the compassion and humor that makes his books so beloved.
