Literati’s Atlas Obscura - Finding Wonder Book Club selection for November is, appropriately, aimed squarely at the stomach. When it keeps its aim there, it’s quite a good travelogue and critique of how we, the apex predator, have altered the natural world in our quest for the comfort of domesticated food, while we paradoxically value the wild and untamed that we’re squeezing out of existence. The book goes from travel memoir to romance memoir with the author’s relationship with “The Hunter,” reaiming at the heart with diminishing returns.
