The Shadow of Kyoshi
by F.C. Yee
3.5, rounded up to 4. I'm gonna need to read these books again at another time, because my mind was just somewhere else while I was reading this, and I wasn't fully focused on it. But I know I did appreciate the writing, I loved Kyoshi as a character and her found family with Rangi and their friends, and I love the established lore of the world of Avatar. As for the actual story, that's what I need to read it again for so I can give it the proper focus it deserves. As it stands I felt like I was expecting a little bit more from this book, and I feel like I wanted a little more overall from the series, but my mind is still a little distracted, so I can't find the words to accurately describe my feelings. This was great, though, in the sense that it's a fantastic deeper look into the world for any huge fans of the Avatar: The Last Airbender show.
