It was great!

A wonderful balance between superhero action and origin story, humour, identity, and family life. I didn't expect for so many different themes to be in the first volume of Ms.Marvel but it was really good! What I really liked was the balance between the tradition and heritage of Kamala's life and family, and the average hopes and dreams of a teenager. Also, gotta love the part where Mom doesn't get what fanfics are lol.

In terms of the superhero aspect of the storyline, I loved how self-aware the narrative was. Like any superhero origin story, the hero has to learn to master and use their powers, while coming to terms with their new identity. But of course, that's all taking place while Kamala still has to find a way to conceal her superhero identity from her family (with the exception of allies/friends), while keeping up with her life as a daughter, sister and student.

Can't wait until the next volume is released!
