Moonlight Mile by Dennis Lehane
4.5
This 6th book was written AND takes place 10 years after book 5, and serves as both the conclusion to the Kenzie and Genarro series as well as a sort of Coda to the events of book 4 (*Gone, Baby, Gone*).
The shortest book by a sizeable margin (8 hours vs the usual 13ish) I'm not really sure why it's rated so much lower than the other 5 books, that made me pretty wary when I started, but it seemed par for the course for most of it, until the ending which I thought was outstanding for both the series and book 4.
I'd give it 5 Stars as I was sobbing by the end, but the start did feel a little weird, not quite sure why. I may just have to adjust my ratings for 3 and 5 down to a 4, as honestly I had a hard time recalling what happened in them 😬
I also found it hilarious that Jonathan Davis chose to affect a Boston accent for this one when he didn't do it for the first 5 books lmao.
Overall I'd give the series a solid 4.5, huge rec, and as expected I'm already missing K&G quite a bit.
