Five Children on the Western Front by Kate Saunders

4.0

The tone of this is beautifully close to EE Nesbitt's writing and I can see why it was so popular. It suffers from the same overly pat moral rectitude as the 'original' novels, and the first three quarters works well. The ending feels somewhat rushed although I love the way The Psammead goes with Cyril. It made me cry.
