The Weight of Lies by Emily Carpenter
4.0

I've read now 3 of this author's 4 books, and she's quite good. These are suspense, mystery, psychological thriller type stories, and I'm in.
This story was cool because it was a novel about a novel and the protagonist was writing a memoir about the novel. Very 'inception-y.' I would think it's hard to create characters, especially ones you like, and then have to shroud them in mystery and judgements from others. Or knowing the ending (as the writer) not giving too much away before the big reveal.
I was kept guessing but then when it all came together, it made sense because she had put in just enough clues that it made sense so as the reader, I wasn't feeling like anything was too much of a stretch.
