Slow paced book, with a very descriptive and great world building. Personally, I didn't like the main character and he felt a bit one dimensional to me sometimes. Somethings felt bit contradictory with the story and the world, but I find that this tends to happen in longer stories with a wide range of characters, history, etc...
The book felt quite different from the movies tbh (especially some of the characters and the order of events taking place). I liked the style of opening a new chapter with a quotation from a passage, but they do spoil/foreshadow the next chapter, which I didn't mind since I had seen the movies, but I could imagine being a bit disappointed if I hadn't though.
