This book is beautifully complex, and hauntingly captivating….for the first 20% which is like 6,725 pages. Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOOVE a long book, but I need something to be happening.
I loved that you couldn’t figure out what was real and what was gaslighting in this super creepy town! So interesting!
Aside from having…”history”, I couldn’t feel the chemistry between the MCs. This was also difficult because I did hybrid with the audiobook and the male narrator’s voice sounded like he was 50 and the female’s voice sounded like she was 20. The difference was gross.
I was very excited and genuinely very sold, but once the connections between the timelines were made (which felt VERY obvious) you just wanted the story to get going and it just wouldn’t.
Do I recommend it? Sadly, no. I don’t. And I really wanted to.
