This was a really interesting read. Even after finishing, I’m unsure of how much I believe of this all to be true. Marina’s story, as presented in “The Girl with No Name,” is so elaborate, chaotic and truthfully, well preserved. Even if fragments of this story are true, I can’t believe that some of this wasn’t over embellished.
Ghost writer Lynn Barrett-Lee writes in the book’s afterward that she had to cut half of Marina’s original manuscript, but really, she probably could have cut another half. This book, at many parts, is an utter page turner, but there were also plenty of chapters full of fluff that I just don’t think were necessary.
Overall, I enjoyed this! It was fun and interesting but the shaky foundation of truth leaves me a bit unsettled.
Intrigued to read up more about Marina and her story.
