Crimson Cove
by Eden Butler
I wanted to read Crimson Cove as soon as I read the synopsis and the fact that it was paranormal made me even more excited to for it! And I have to say that I've never read a paranormal romance quite like the one that Ms. Butler has written. Granted, not everything was new to me like the witches, wizards, and weres (Oh, my! I couldn't resist *grins*) but even they and pretty much everything else can't be classified as ordinary or normal. Crimson Cove is one unique story and I'm so glad I got to read it!
Well, I had a little bit of a love/hate relationship when it came to the heroine. Jani can definitely be a bada*s witch and I really loved that - it was pretty entertaining and funny to watch sometimes. I guess there was really only one thing that I wasn't too thrilled with her about, but the more I read, the more I understood her and I couldn't really blame or stay mad at her. And despite that little wrinkle I had with Jani, I actually really did like her and I loved her too!
I always liked Bane and there were a lot of things I loved about him! I loved how possessive and how protective he was, I loved his teasing, his playfulness, and even his surliness, most especially his growling, and I loved his attitude - I guess I just loved him. Although there was a reason why I said that I always liked him instead of loved and it's because I didn't really, truly fall for until he said something so awesome and perfect that he stole my heart right in that moment and nothing could have stopped it!
I normally don't put quotes in my review, but this is just one that I have to put in!
Jani: “So why would we bother if there’s a chance we’ll hurt each other?”
Bane: “Because, little witch, out of everyone in the world that will hurt me, you’re the only one worth the pain.”
OH EM GEE! Best. Answer. Ever. That line right there made this book into what I thought would only be four stars into a five star read for me! It's so beautiful and real and true that I never want to forget it and it will always be one of my favorite quotes.
Crimson Cove is one beautiful, magical, amazing read that brought tears to my eyes, made me laugh, feel giddy, and let me a experience the paranormal in a way I haven't before!
Crimson Cove is a standalone, it's told only from Jani's POV, and Jani and Bane do get their HEA!
