King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair

SPOILERS
I don’t usually post reviews but y’all, I’m upset. I wanted to DNF this so badly, but the hype around this book made me push through. I have been utterly betrayed by bookstagram. Swindled. Hoodwinked. This book was an absolute dumpster fire!! I love me a good slow burn, enemies to lovers, fantasy romance, and with vampires?! Should be a good read for me!! But TELL ME HOW they’re clarting by page 80?!?! Which enemy are you dropping your panties for that quickly?! Nahhh not for this gyal. Also, the love interest was an absolute ass, Isolde should’ve burnt that bloodsucka to a crisp once she found Safira naked in his bed. Just for her to look Isolde right in the face and tell her she’s been there for three nights?! RUH, THREE NIGHTS!! THE AUDACITY! and then she gets pissed at shorty but hate fucks her man?!! nuh nuh nuh this was some medieval Twilight KhloexTristanxJordan shit.
The only thing that kept me from throwing this book across my room was the history of the world they’re living in. The world building was half decent and therefore saved the book for me but the main characters embody everything that can be toxic about love, sex and intimacy. In retrospect, considering how many books I have on my TBR, I really should’ve DNF’d this
