Words of Radiance Part Two by Brandon Sanderson
adventurous
mysterious
slow-paced
5.0
Alright, I understand the hype. It's definitely one of Brandon's finest works. However, the use of modern slang in this book feels out of place, and the writing doesn't quite match up to his peers. But what truly distinguishes Brandon is his storytelling and world buildinging.
He is one of his kind when it comes to creating intricate world and complex magic systems.
"Words of Radiance" beautifully expands on the already elaborate world of Roshar, set within his universe called The Cosmere. Roshar boasts its own ecosystem, complete with unique organisms, diverse animal and plant life, various races, and a magic system intricately tied to its environment. It’s rich with different cultures, politics, and intricate histories that weave together to create a vibrant and dynamic world. Each region has its own unique traditions, beliefs, and conflicts, making the story both complex and captivating.
I recommend binge-reading this series. It's full of fascinating details that you might forget if you read it with large gaps in between.
This book isn't perfect. I struggled with some of the interludes. Especially the one about the girl named Lift. But overall it's a great book. I enjoyed it more than The Way of the Kings.
