The novel started really well and unlike many other novels, it was really good all the way to the end.
The author had a way of getting you hooked, it was an emotional rollercoaster. I liked the heroine, pitied her, got angry at her for not doing anything and then understood her perspective, it was like you were going on this journey of self healing with her.
Her father’s obsession with interfering in every decision of her life, her mother’s anti-feminist thinking and her brother’s opinion on the men she is involved with is frustrating. Although they were right about Nick but they could have handled things better.
I absolutely hated Nick and Vanessa. Vanessa was just irritating and why Haven took so long to get her fired is beyond any reason.
The protectiveness the brothers showed at the opening night of the theatre was endearing. When Hardy asks Haven for a dance and all three of them had a way to refuse.
I loved Gage Travis, he was so good and understanding. He was the one who understood and supported Haven the most.
And Jack got better as the novel progressed. And I started liking him.
Gage and Jack were so intriguing in the novel that I want to read their stories.
