The Lying Game by Ruth Ware

3.0

You guys, I'm just not sure Ruth Ware is my jam.

The Lying Game follows Isa as she returns to the small coastal village where she attended school as a teenager & reunites with friends from her time there. From the beginning it's clear that while they were young, they did something criminal, but we don't know what. They're all afraid that it's about to come to the surface.⁣

Here's the thing - I can read about teenagers making poor choices & be down with it! But when, instead of coming clean, these fully adult women continue lying to the point that relationships are destroyed, I no longer enjoy reading. It's just not for me! I get too annoyed with the characters.⁣

If that doesn't bother you, the mystery aspect of this was excellent & I did not guess the ending!
