The Dark Bite by Leia Stone

3.0

A mid book, good for when you are between release dates for other books (especially if you long for their writing style—I really liked the Wolfed: Cursed By Love (Wolfed, #1) and I am eagerly awaiting the 2nd ).

To say it outright, I won`t continue with this series because there are other books out there that have caught my eye and demand my attention, but I don`t think that the series per whole is bad

What`s Going on in The Book:

The protagonist is in a vampire hunter cult. She falls in a type of mating bond with a vampire royal. It turns out that they are linked from now on. He can no longer drink any other`s blood, except hers.

I did not really like this concept.

It also annoyed me that him having to drink from her to survive was the thing by which the entire plot was hanging.

This excerpt is from the protagonist`s POV (her):

“Luka would need to feed while I was gone….Frick.”

At which point my question was what is the difference anymore between having a bounded vampire and an infant that needs to suckle, then?

Then, I came with the brilliant question of why doesn't she pump out some blood for him to have in bottles?

But, apparently, the book considered this question too, but CHAPTERS AFTER the firsts mentions that he will have to feed exclusively from her.

This was the rule written in a book:

“One final mention. In a bonded pair, the vampire must never drink the feeder’s dead blood. It acts as poison and will kill them.”(It appeared in bold in the book, too)

Overall, not a bad book, but it did not make me spin.
