Allergic to Babies, Burglars, and Other Bumps in the Night by Lenore Look

I really hated this. There is little-kid sexism about how girls are annoying/to be avoided, and "boys are guilty". Alvin doesn't like that his mom is pregnant with a girl child. Alvin has a sympathetic pregnancy; he seems to think that he's really pregnant, and no one seems to feel the need to correct him. I started reading these books because I have selective mutism and I found the portrayal to be very accurate, and I liked most of the earlier books. But the sexism in this one, and the strange plot, led me to put the book down and not finish it.
