A Little Hatred by Joe Abercrombie
5.0

Don't get me wrong, I immensely enjoyed the standalones (as well as the Sharp Ends shorts)... and yet, WHAT A RETURN TO FORM. A Little Hatred knocked my socks off.

The new characters. The familiar characters. Abercrombie is best in class with his character work.

So many fantastic moments: Savine's POV during the Valbeck uprising, the battle at Red Hill, Stour Nightfall and Leo dan Brock's duel, and that ending. My goodness.

“But that’s what growing up is, maybe. Realizing what a fucking arse you’ve been.”
