A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

4.0

Marvelous. It was my first time. I didn’t know the plot, the story, or even the genre of this play, and I found it to be marvelously ridiculous. It was a hoot! Silly, fantastical, dramatic, dreamy, romantic, happy, and fun. It wasn’t what I expected, but it was certainly a thorough delight. It was mostly just fun, but I did find a few extremely profound themes throughout as well. Here are a few favorite quotes:
“For never anything can be amiss when simpleness and duty tender it.” -Theseus
“A good moral, my Lord: It is not enough to speak, but to speak true.” -Lysander
“If we imagine no worse of them than they, of themselves, they may pass for Excellent Men.” -Theseus
