I am mad that anyone ever called this book boring or bad to me because I absolutely loved it, and I would DIE for Pearl. This work really showcases the imbalance between people perceived as men and people perceived as women in society.
Arthur Dimmesdale had people denying his crime until his dying day. Hester Prynne had to live an underprivileged life of constant atonement and ostracism just for people to respect her when she got older.
I really find this book fascinating, and, honestly, I’m just glad that Pearl
is most likely happy in the end
. She didn’t deserve how she was viewed and treated by everyone in the book, especially her own mother.
