Nothing about it captured me: not the characters or their relationship, not the world-building, not the mystery, and not the writing. I might read the second book in this series, but I don't know, there are so many other things I want to read, as well.
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Some of my friends/people I follow here on GR gave this 5 stars, so I guess I'm disappointed that it didn't meet my high expectations. This author is hit-or-miss for me; I've DNF'd one book and loved another.
