Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
Life is too short to read books you’re not enjoying, and I’m not enjoying this enough to continue 🤷‍♀️ I like the hell storyline, and I would love to know more of the details there. But eventually the two stories are going to have to intersect (no, they still haven’t yet), so if we were ever going to get that, we’re running out of time. Also, I hate all of the humans. The dad thinks so creepily about his teenage daughter and her friend, the teenage friend is seeming starting to encourage it, the mom is having an affair and complaining about how much her real life sucks even though she’s given us zero reason she thinks so (is it weird we get Peyote, Mickey, and the mom’s POVs only? if there’s a reason for it, we haven’t gotten it yet), and the son is just a bratty teen with literally no other quality to him.
