Wow - this book was FUN! I had no idea what to expect
going into this read; this was the first Elliot Rose book I’ve read and it definitely won’t be my last. 🫶 This is a HOT adult fantasy romance.

We get:
🗡️Dual POV
🗡️Enemies to lovers
🗡️Forced Proximity
🗡️Academy for supernaturals (they’re grown folk, y’all)
🗡️Forbidden romance (teacher/student but also his brother is fae mated to her sister, the queen)
🗡️Age gap lol (his 300 years to her 30 years)
🗡️Fated Mates
🗡️High High High Heat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
🗡️Talk so dirty, it’s filthy
🗡️Hand necklace
🗡️Mine!
🗡️Touch her and die
🗡️All mythological creatures working together: fae, shifters, witches, sprites, etc
🗡️Check the CW/TW

I loved the heat and lust between Rowan and Ri. Right off the bat they do NOT like each other but that doesn’t stop them from secretly lusting after each other.

Rowan is a big muscled full body tatted up warlord witch, and he is the grumpiest grump of all grumps. In other words, he’s that broody supernatural your momma warned you about but you gotta learn the hard way. And I love him.

Ri is sister to the queen and is determined to train and become one of the hand-picked elite warriors, The Astrals. I absolutely love her drive to earn her place among the warriors instead of allowing her sister, the queen, to place her as a guard. One of the things I loved most is how her grumpy instructor, Rowan, always wanted her to succeed and pushed her even harder than others. Although externally it came off as him being a huge dick, we see his true motives while in his POV.

This book has an epic battle between the big bad, and I thought it was a great build up to that scene. For me the blend of romance story telling between Ri and Rowan plus the big external conflict was perfect.

If you love a spicy hot fantasy romance with action, magic, and general badassery, Brutal Birthright is for you.

Thank you to Book Sirens for my ARC. Thoughts/opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.
