A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

ACOTAR...I took the dive. Worth the hype? Mostly. Spicy? No. There is one fairly detailed encounter and then a couple of descriptive caresses, but by no means spicy, IMO. There is violence, blood, and gore.

It's unlike me to be into the fantasy genre, especially fantasy romance, but I feel like I'm slowly becoming a fan.

I really love the setting and plot of this story. Everything is explained well. Fantasy is fantasy, but the author does a good job making things add up, make sense, and flow. The concept of the different courts and the backstory, and how things continue to come together right up until the end was really enjoyable for me.

There is some really great descriptive writing and metaphors throughout.

There are a lot of suspenseful moments right up to the end.

Will I be picking up book 2?: Yes.
