Instead of a high stakes action-packed fantasy full of battles and armies, instead this is a book about a goblin who’s thrust into the role of emperor after the rest of the succession is killed.
Normally, I find political intrigue and court politics and relationships boring filled with meandering descriptions. However, this was an amazing book where I completely fell in love with the MC and his outlook and attitude.
