The Sinister Booksellers of Bath by Garth Nix

4.0

3.5 stars.
When Merlin, that sartorially-minded left-handed bookseller, is pulled into a magical map, Vivian enlists Susan's help to rescue them. Susan has cooled on the magical world, wanting to be just a human studying art, but it's not to be. Her use of her magic pulls her closer to her father, the Old Man of Coniston, and her power, and the machinations of Old World beings.

I love the relationship amongst Susan, Vivian and Merlin, and all the booksellers' magic. Vivian is the best, and Susan, though reluctant, gains a measure of control over her burgeoning power, and an agreement with her father regarding it. Merlin's clothes choices are always wonderful, and I look forward to the next installment of this fast-moving and fun series.
