This one felt like an old friend. There were a lot of familiar themes and while I can’t say it felt very original, I can say that I enjoyed it. Both the romance and the world building were a bit of a slow build, but now that that’s out of the way, I think book two has the potential to be great. I do feel that characters in captivity can really stall out a books momentum so I hope we don’t have to tolerate that narrative for too long. We will just have to wait and see.
