The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

4.0

aaaaannnnnd here we have book 2! I’m not normally one for series but I think it’s safe to say I’m committing to finishing this one. I wish there were more differences between Grace and Hannah as characters - they’re very similar in the way that they are both low key, yoga pant and sweater wearing girls. Logan and Garrett share a lot of similarities as well - the dad trauma even though it’s slightly different situations, and obviously the “hockey guy who only knows one night stands or meaningless hookups”. However - these things don’t really make the book any less fun. Unlike The Deal, this one starts with the passion EARLY then takes a step back before diving into the passionate romance between the two. I appreciate the sweetness to Graces character, and I actually enjoy how the topic of virginity is addressed. She’s not treated as a delicate flower but there is still an insanely strong sense of respect between the two as they explore the sexuality of their relationship. It doesn’t fall into a lot of the stigma. I find myself relating to Grace a bit, particularly in the beginning of the book as she’s trying to let loose and have fun in college. Overall another fun read and I’m excited for book 3! Time to see what Allie & Dean will be like
