Borrowing My Bestie's Brothers by Sam Hall

5.0

Jamie is not a girlie girl, wanting all the frilly things. She’s happiest getting her hands under the hood of a car working in her best friend’s big brother’s garage. Having everyone’s eyes on her and dealing with her mother’s criticism is enough to make her run for the hills. Jamie’s brother’s engagement becomes the perfect opportunity for her mother to reinsert herself in Jamie’s life, placing stress where it doesn’t belong and belittling Jamie for ways she believes Jamie is deficient. Now that Jamie has conjoured three relationships out of thin air, she’s going to have to figure out how to make that claim a reality, and her bestie’s brothers my be the men for the job, but there is more there than meets the eye. I loved seeing Jamie stay true to herself as she navigated the individual and group situations she found herself in. I enjoyed how refreshingly excited and earnest the guys were. I also loved that the McDonald house was a respite and source of comfort for all who came through the doors. Though parts of this were hard to ‘enjoy’ as Jamie’s mom is a difficult person to like, it’s easy to love because the guys are amazing, Jamie finding love and support where she could gave me all the feels, and now I can’t wait to read about Millie!
