The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin

5.0

Essun hopes to find her daughter and forge a world where every orogene child can grow up safe. Nassun has seen the evil within this world and has come to accept what her mother will not admit: that sometimes what is corrupt cannot be cleansed, only destroyed.

What.👏🏻 an. 👏🏻 ending. 👏🏻

THE STONE SKY is the perfect end to the Broken Earth trilogy. This trilogy is one of the most complex and fascinating that I’ve ever read.

The world building from book one to now is immaculate. The characters are well written, complex, and dynamic. The journey they’ve taken over the course of three novels is impressive. I’ve loved the path this author created and am still mind-boggled at its detail and intricacy. The scope of this story is truly magnificent. The ending of this book had me in tears - it’s emotion packed and so worth it as the story as a whole comes to a close.

The first book is definitely my favourite of the three, but this one does come close. A trilogy I’ll definitely reread!
