How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black

4.0

It was nice to see the situations that shaped Carden and see from his perspective how several events over the trilogy came to be. Several incidents from his childhood, his friendship with Nicasia, his feelings for Jude, and his friendship with the gang, help the reader sympathize with him.
The three variations to the story with different morals exchanged between Aslog and Carden were interesting, even though the premise was the same. Also, the artwork in the book was beautiful!
I understand the reason for executing the book the way she did, but it wasn't very engaging as the stories were too short and the connection between them was too thin. A very breezy read, indeed!
