This was a slower start for me than some of the other Riley Sager books I’ve read, but I think that’s more because the first half has you going, “Huh, those things are weird” and it’s less outright creepy the way  Home Before Dark was for example. It was well worth it for the twist as always though. I had suspicions of where it was going, but there were a few different theories that sprouted up for me based on the events leading up to everything unraveling. That’s something that I love about Riley Sager’s writing. It gets my brain running on a million different directions about what the twist will be and even if I have pieces of the puzzle right, the whole picture always surprises me. He’s easily my favorite author at the moment for that reason. I’ve already pre-ordered his latest, and I have Final Girls next on deck to read, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
