High quality writing, good pacing, but it’s not doing much— a book about an election in ‘93 should have more themes of sexual exploitation, power, and the monotony of government. these themes were just barely touched on. Also, Mr. M is disgustingly hypocritical when it comes to themes of rape and violence towards teenage girls but is still seen as a redeemably flawed character?
